Hours of Business runs online booking for salons. This page explains what information we keep, why, and who else handles it. We don't sell personal information and we don't show ads.
What we keep
- Salon owners and staff: name, email, a scrambled (hashed) password, role, working hours and photo if added.
- Salon details: name, address, phone, opening hours, services, prices, booking rules, logo and photos.
- Clients who book: first and last name, email, phone, any note they add, and their booking history with that salon. Salon staff may add private notes, such as a color formula.
Why we use it
- To show the salon's booking page, offer real available times and keep bookings from overlapping.
- To send booking emails: confirmations, reminders, changes, team invites and password resets. Client phone numbers are kept for the salon and for text reminders when they're added.
- To keep the service secure and fix problems.
Who decides
Each salon controls its own client information; we store and process it on the salon's behalf. Salons only ever see their own clients. If you booked with a salon and want your details changed or removed, ask the salon, or contact us below.
Services we use
- Vercel (hosting and image storage), Neon (database) and Resend (email delivery), all in the United States.
Cookies
We use one cookie to keep salon staff signed in. Clients booking an appointment get no cookies from us. We don't use tracking or advertising cookies.
How long we keep it
While the salon uses Hours of Business. When a salon asks us to delete its account, we delete its data, including its client records, within 30 days, apart from what we must keep by law.
